GeoURL

I found this neat thing called GeoURL yesterday. What it does, is allow you to find Web sites by their proximity to a given location. You simply add a couple lines of code to your Web pages, which contain the latitude on longitude that your Web site is based on. Then get it added to the GeoURL database, and you'll get a list of "nearby" Web sites.

Here's a list of Web sites in proximity to this Blog! Look for Web sites with the GeoURL icon.

Firefox has a great extension that lights up a little globe on the Firefox status bar when you're on a site with a GeoURL tag. Simply click on the globe to get the GeoURL listing.

Don't Shoot .. I'm only kidding!

The new "Wild, Wild, West South" is here!

A new gun law in Florida, signed by the President's brother Jeb and backed by the NRA, now gives Floridians the "right" to shoot first and don't ask any questions later, if they feel threatened in a public place!

The old law said you could protect you and your family in your own home if there was a threat to your lives. The new law lets folks shoot if they feel threatened in a public place ... walking down the sidewalk ... driving in your car ... at work! So now, if you look at someone the wrong way, or say the wrong thing to someone who woke up on the wrong side of the bed that morning ... you might get "capped" because he thought you posed a threat!

I know I'll never be saying "I'm going to kick your ass" in a fun and joking way anymore ... someone might feel threatened and want to shoot!

Good luck Floridians ... don't get caught in the crossfire.

Hubble's 15th!

Happy Anniversary Hubble!

NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has been in orbit for 15 years, and has taken more than 700,000 images. For Hubble's 15th Anniversary, scientists released an image of the Whirlpool Galaxy, which is "among the largest and sharpest Hubble has ever taken". According to The Hubblesite.org, "The images are so incredibly sharp, they could be enlarged to billboard size and still retain stunning details."

It's just too bad, that budget cuts have forced NASA to scrap plans to Service Hubble ... or we'd continue to get spectacular images such as these for the foreseeable future.

I'm Only 29

First it was Lauren Hastings, the blonde in the "Old Navy" Christmas commercials. Now it's the "29" year old brunette from the "Oil of Olay" commercials, Caitlin Keats. I'm sure you've seen one of the commercials ... where she's hooked up to the lie detector or the more recent one, where a psychic on stage guesses her age. Another one of those faces, that makes me stop what I'm doing ... just to watch her on the screen ... or maybe it's her little sarcastic attitude that does it!

Agreed. Both her beauty and her manner steal my attention if I am in vicinity of the television. I haven't checked her in the movie Kill Bill II yet, she is also in a couple other small roles of other films: Murder in Small Town X to name one.

I thought maybe I was the only one who realize the classiness this lady glows with. I think she looks best in the commercial where she is on the computer and the dog unplugs it. Seen that one yet?? She is sharp

I love the way she deliberately lies on the first 2 questions as a tease, but then uses her confident willpower to fool the lie detector & the technician. She also fools anyone who thinks the make-up has anything to do with her performance.

Sin City

A few days ago, I caught the movie "Sin City". A very strange movie indeed! It was kind of a dark movie. Because it was shot in Black & White, it reminded me of one of those cheesy 1950's detective movies. Seemed to tell several different stories ... which eventually get tied together in the end. Wasn't really my kind of movie.

Had a pretty big cast of well known actors ... even though some were rather small parts. It was nice to catch Sarasota born actress Carla Gugino who played "Lucille" in the film. I first recall seeing her a couple years ago in the TV show "Karen Cisco", which I thought was pretty good.

Maybe you shouldn't let someone sucker you into seeing the movies that aren't "your kind of movies".
