Miss Universe 2005

Miss Canada, 23 year old Natalie Glebova, was crowned Miss Universe 2005 last night. I didn't watch it, because I feel they discriminate - when was the last time someone from outside our solar system was crowned Miss Universe?

But ... since she's a Canadian, like me, I figure I'd wave the flag a bit!

Indy 500

Been a while since I've paid much attention to, or even watched, the Indy 500 on TV. But this year, started hearing all the "buzz" about one of the rookie drivers, Danica Patrick. Saw a few interviews of her on TV, so figured what the heck ... watch the race and see how she does. I suppose I ended up "secretly" cheering her on ... hoping she'd do well!

After recovering from a few mistakes and mishaps, she managed to run in the lead for a few laps near the end, but low fuel didn't allow her to keep that position, and she ended up finishing in 4th place. Not bad at all for a "rookie"!

Happy Birthday!

Well, Happy Birthday to me!

Spent a pretty quiet day yesterday, not doing much of anything. Went to dinner, and then down to "Sharky's" in Venice with some more friends to hear the band "Take 2" play. They were great as usual ... and had a good time! So ... wasn't too bad of a day ... considering it was another Birthday!

Mindhunters

Saw the movie Mindhunters last night. It's about a group of FBI Profilers going through training, who get sent off for a training exercise. Unfortunately, the training takes a serious turn ... and they all end up suspecting each other. A nice little suspense thriller with a double twist ending.

Post Vacation Post

Well, back from my trip to Kentucky. Stayed near the town of Barbourville, in the southeast part of the state.

Arrived about 2AM Wednesday morning. Spend part of Wednesday going to Cumberland Falls. It is the second tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi River ... after Niagara Falls. Very nice spot and well worth a visit. (Went back there again on Friday with a couple other people). Spent the rest of the day driving around the local area enjoying the nice scenery and twisting-turning roads!

Thursday headed to the center part of the state, to visit Mammoth Cave National Park. They offer several tours of the caves. We took the Frozen Niagara Tour. Enjoyed that quite a bit.

After three days up there, headed back south on Saturday. A nice little trip ... and nice change of scenery.

Vacation

It's time for a break ... so will be taking a week to head up to
Kentucky and Tennessee. Should be a nice change of scenery. Will try and post from the "road" if I can!

Spread The Fox

I've noticed, I have been pushing my Firefox usage on folks here! With that in mind, I've decided to create another blog, Spread The Fox, which will concentrate on Firefox. This will spare you from having to read about it here ... and I can keep you entertained with other things!
