New Mars Photos

The team that operates the high-resolution camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, have begun releasing amazing high detail, high resolution photos of the Martian surface on the HiRISE Web site. The photo to the right is of Ada crater with an approximate diameter of 2 kilometers.

The cameras were also able to photograph the landing site of the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity, as well as the rover exploring the rim of Victoria Crater.

Black Friday

Well, it looks like the Holiday Season is officially here with the arrival of "Black Friday", the busiest shopping day of the year (not for me!).

With the lack of any decent Old Navy commercials, here's a little Stacy Keibler to get you into the holiday spirit!

Borat

Went to see the "Borat" movie a couple nights ago. Don't think I've been to a movie where the audience laughed almost straight through from beginning to end! I can see where it might be "offensive" to folks who take things to seriously and have no sense of humor.

If you look deeper though, the movie focuses on certain issues - racism, gays, religion, terrorism, women - and shows people still believing the stereotypes associated with them. These are the same people who are now suing because they claim they were duped and the movie made them look like fools. No ... the movie just exposed the fools they really are!

The only "disturbing" part for me, was the nude scene. I REALLY didn't have to see that ... although, it was still funny!

All in all, enjoyed the movie. If you have a good sense of humor, don't take things too seriously, and don't believe the stereotypes, you won't be offended ... and you'll have fun watching it! It's NOT for kids though.

Too Hot?

The local newspaper editors thought this photo was "too hot" for publication!

An island being born ...

Thought this was pretty neat! Some folks cruising the South Pacific witness a new island being born. Great photos!

Bowling

I guess I didn't write about joining a Bowling League for the Winter. Always enjoyed the Summer League, since it was only about 3 months worth of bowling. Well, after we finished the Summer League, one of my friendly "competitors" asked if I wanted to Bowl in the winter on a team she was putting together. Figured it might be fun, so I said sure! We Bowled our 9th week last week, and it looks like we took over 1st place! I guess it was a good decision! And yes ... we're having fun too!

Almost Here!

Well, the "mid term" elections are tomorrow. It will be a relief not to have to watch another negative political ad for another 2 years. I'm not sure how well they actually work, when instead of making you think about who's ideas are better ... you start thinking which one's shady dealings are not quite as bad as the other guys! Too bad there's not a choice for none of the above, but in a way I guess there is ... just stay home.
