And The Lies Continue

Our leader was on TV last night ... talking about the War in Iraq. He mentioned 9/11 five times during his speech ... somehow still trying to link Iraq with 9/11. After claiming a link to 9/11 as a reason to go into Iraq, everyone, except Shrub, knows that investigations have shown no link between Iraq and 9/11. Why is he still using this old "scare tactic" lie as justification to go into Iraq? Who still buys it?

The only thing that his references to 9/11 point out, is that the REAL cause of 9/11, Osama Bin Laden, still remains on the loose ... almost 4 years later.

American Super Model

Headed out to The Beach Club last night expecting to hear the Band "Life On Mars" play. Not sure what happened ... but they didn't show! Somehow they rounded up another band, American Super Model who were pretty good as well! They play there on Friday nights. As usual for a Saturday night ... the place was packed!

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Saw the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith a couple nights ago. Was a pretty good movie about a suburban couple with LOT'S of issues ... all as a result of some pretty big secrets! Hopefully this isn't anyone's "reality".

Isn't this the movie where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie alledgedly "hooked up"? Looks like there was a little "chemistry" ... or were they just acting?

I'm Hooked!

A couple days ago, I mentioned that I joined Blogshares. At the time, I didn't really know what I was doing (and still, not too sure!) ... but have begun to amass my "imaginary" fortune by collecting a few chips and then selling them for Blogshare cash (B$). You can sell chips for around B$ 28M each!

Started out with B$500 for signing up and a couple folks send me "gifts" of stock and chips for being a "newbie". Anyway, once I was able to get some cash, I started buying shares of various blogs. Some prices have gone up ... shares in this blog, started at B$1.23 and are now worth B$3.94! OK ... not a huge profit, but hey!

One of my "gifts" (10 shares in a blog) had some recent action. First I was "forced" to sell 2 shares at B$1,467.53 each. OK ... I'll take that. Then as a "restructure" of that blog, I was again "forced" to sell one share at B$39,117.24! Just sold my remaining 7 shares for about B$100 over market value.

Yesterday evening, I bought 1270 shares in a blog for B$3,665,979.36. There was a "leveraged buyout" overnight, and they sold for B$15,302,887.50!

Since I joined ... and starting with B$500 ... I've had a 842,356,381% growth rate, and my net worth is currently B$4,211,782,405.97! Not too bad for 3 days!

If it sounds like fun, and you decide to join up to play Blogshares ... post your ID# and I'll leave you a "gift" to get started!

By the way ... if you click on the Blogshare link ... I get 5 "chips"!

I am one of the blogs you purchased.
Either send me large quantities of cash in unmarked bills or I pull an Oprah and hesitate about renewing my contract and cause shares to crash like Anna Nicole Smith on a bender in high heels.

UH-OH!! I see you're not playing "the game", so can't leave you any "gifts" - B$ money and/or shares! Think I'll hang on to your shares for a while though.

Let's Go Lightning!

One year ago tonight ... the Stanley Cup made it's first appearance in Tampa, as the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Calgary Flames in Game 7, 2-1.

Let's get this labor dispute taken care of ... and let's play some Hockey again next year!

SpamAlot

Wow ... who would have thought that the Broadway version of "Monty Python and The Holy Grail", Monty Python's SpamAlot, would win the 2005 Tony Award for "Best Musical"!! Pretty neat for us Monty Python fans!

Blogshares

Just joined a thing called Blogshares, which is a fantasy stock market game for weblogs. Looks like I've got a lot to learn ... but it should be interesting.

The Longest Yard

Went to see the the movie The Longest Yard last night. It's about a group of convicts getting together to form a prison Football team, which plays a team of Prison Guards.

If you're an Adam Sandler fan, you pretty much know what to expect from the film ... and you won't be disappointed ... it was very funny. Some folks in the almost "full house" theatre started "cheering" at the end of the game! If you like Adam Sandler or Chris Rock, go check it out ... and have a good time!

Lucky Strikes

One of the ways I like to pass some time, is by Bowling. For the third summer now, I've joined a Bowling League. Ours started last month ... and after 4 weeks, various substitutes and a player change, I think we've finally gotten a real "team" together! Even with the changes (and being short a bowler or two), we've been able to do well ... being in a 3 way tie for 1st before tonight's action. We won 7 points tonight (I think we've figured out the secret!), so expect we should be sitting pretty next week! If we can keep it up until the end of the season ... I'd be amazed ... and happy!
