Browser Wars?

Back in November, I made a post about a new Internet Browser I had been using, called Firefox. 99 days after it was released, it has reached the 25 million download mark!

Interestingly, on the same day, February 15, Micro$oft announced a "new" version of their Internet Explorer, IE 7.0, which will be released as "beta" this summer. It is supposed to be "new and improved" as far as security is concerned (the lack of which, is why IE is currently the target of virus and spyware writers), but folks aren't expecting much in the way of new and improved features. The new IE 7.0 will ONLY work for XP users ... leaving others out in the cold ... vulnerable to the security risks.

There is much talk going on about how this announcement is in reaction to the growing popularity of Firefox. Let the Browser War begin!

UPDATE: Read about Firefox on Yahoo! News.

Polo Anyone?

Well, today I did something I've never had any interest in or ever thought I would do ... and that was go watch a Polo Match! Don't know anything about the sport ... but picked up the basics rather quickly. Don't think I'd become a big fan of Polo, but it was a nice way to spend a nice Sunday afternoon with a couple of friends.

Super Bowl

The Eagles are in the Super Bowl. Go Patriots!!! I'll probably only watch the game for the commercials or to catch a "wardrobe malfunction" anyway!

"Shrub" is at it again - or still?

Yes ... it's been a while since I've posted anything ... but hasn't been much to write about lately (or maybe I've been too lazy?).

"Shrub" was on TV a couple nights ago, but couldn't bring myself to watch or listen to it ... figuring most of it would be half-truths or flat out BS ... the same stuff we heard on the campaign trail. I just don't feel like getting upset from yelling "liar" at the TV every 10 seconds!

Of course, my suspicions were correct. Received an e-mail from Factcheck.org last night, saying:

"In his State of the Union Address, President Bush said again that the Social Security system is headed for "bankruptcy," a term that could give the wrong idea. Actually, even if it goes "bankrupt" a few decades from now, the system would still be able to pay about three-quarters of the benefits now promised."

I find it funny that "Shrub" has to constantly resort to scare tactics and lies to get his message across! I guess otherwise, no one would take him seriously ... instead of half the people he's got fooled now.

Read the complete Factcheck.org article here.

OH ... and one more thing. Last week, ABC News reported, that "Shrub's" current approval rating was the lowest of any incumbent President. OK ... if he's doing such a lousy job ... why is he still there? Makes no sense ... but I guess, that doesn't surprise me.

In a survey last year, 74 percent of American adults say they have more common sense than most people, and 43 percent say they have "a lot more" common sense than most people. But, according to the survey, 7 percent of Americans are said to have Common Sense Perception, or CSP - an uncanny and uncommon level of common sense.

Take the quiz and see how you do!
