Browser Wars?

Back in November, I made a post about a new Internet Browser I had been using, called Firefox. 99 days after it was released, it has reached the 25 million download mark!

Interestingly, on the same day, February 15, Micro$oft announced a "new" version of their Internet Explorer, IE 7.0, which will be released as "beta" this summer. It is supposed to be "new and improved" as far as security is concerned (the lack of which, is why IE is currently the target of virus and spyware writers), but folks aren't expecting much in the way of new and improved features. The new IE 7.0 will ONLY work for XP users ... leaving others out in the cold ... vulnerable to the security risks.

There is much talk going on about how this announcement is in reaction to the growing popularity of Firefox. Let the Browser War begin!

UPDATE: Read about Firefox on Yahoo! News.
