California Executes Stanley Tookie Williams

California executed gang leader and murderer Stanley Tookie Williams, early this morning.

Critics say, his life should have been spared, since he reformed and had written several "anti gang" children's books in prison.

These same critics, seem to ignore the fact that Williams was convicted in 1981 of killing Albert Owens as he lay face down on the floor of a 7-Eleven convenience store in a $120 robbery. Two weeks later, Williams shot dead an elderly Taiwanese immigrant couple running a motel, as well as their visiting daughter.

What more of a message can there be than saying "You kill someone ... you will end up like me." Seems like a most fitting final chapter to the Tookie Williams story.

Bah Humbug

I don't know ... is it just me, or does this Christmas seem to be the most "politically correct" yet? Legal arguments to determine if it should be called a Christmas Tree or a Holiday Tree ... kids having to change the words to Christmas Carols ... what the heck is happening?

I'm not a very religious person myself, but I still like to get into the "Christmas Spirit" ... not as a religious event, but as a time for giving and to get togther with friends and family.

If you don't believe in Christmas or don't celebrate it ... fine. Celebrate (or not) any way you choose. Like I say to to the conservatives trying to push their agenda ... believe what you want and live how you want, just don't push your beliefs or ideologies on everyone else.

So with that, I'll take this opportunity to wish everyone Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, or Happy Kwanzaa ... and in order to not offend or leave anyone out, Happy Holidays to you!

By the way, haven't seen any decent Christmas TV commercials yet. The "Old Navy" spots aren't even worth mentioning this year!

My "Lucky" Day?

Well ... I didn't win the Lottery ... but close!

I like to go bowling Sunday mornings ... for a little practice and a little exercise. Went this morning, and while I didn't bowl a 300 ... I did pick up my first 7-10 split (and have left many)! Have to admit, it was a total luck shot ... but sure felt good! Next up ... a 300!

Wonder if I should buy that Lottery ticket ...
