This and That ...

Yes ... it has been a while since I've posted anything here. Guess I haven't been too motivated or "fired up" to write about anything ... but figure I'd get caught up today!

A couple days ago, we found out someone in Washington actually has a spine! Senate Majority Leader Tom Frist announced he would support Federal Funding of stem cell research. This, of course, "sparked outrage among Christian conservatives" and some conservative Republicans. Who cares? Here's someone who looked at the facts, made up his mind, and stated his opinion without worrying about the political or religious implications. Maybe there IS hope for politicians to actually stand up for what they believe ... and not let the conservatives dictate what people should do, what we should think, or how we should live our lives!

Then of course, on the other end of the spectrum, I read a story about a "claim" from Saddam Hussein's Defense Team, that he was attacked by an unidentified man during a court appearance in Baghdad this week. (OK, all together now ... Awwwww) The US and the Iraqi Tribunal say the event never happened. What at first surprised me ... and then it didn't ... was to see that Former US District Attorney Ramsey Clark was part of Hussein's Defense Team! Something just doesn't sit right with me to see a former US District Attorney defending a War Criminal ... someone responsible for killing his own people and the reason American troops continue to die in Iraq. I guess some people have no conscience ... "Show Me The Money"!
